Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. Stuart is the only person that I have ever been dating on Valentine's Day and I still have ALWAYS loved the holiday. This is because my mother always made it such a special day, we felt so loved. Even in college she would send me a big package of goodies and a little gift. We have this tradition in our family of ding-dong ditching on Valentine's Day. So you make your home-made valentines and then sneak outside to leave them on the porch, ring the doorbell, and then sneak back inside before people notice! Cheesy...but we love love love it! With my brother and his wife at the house and my sister coming over, it made for quite the party. Since Stuart and I still wanted to celebrate something just the two of us we went to BJ's and saw The Vow on Monday. It was perfect because we got to celebrate LOVE two days in a row! Valentine's Day was so great and I am looking forward to next year to decorate my own home (or apartment) to make the holiday feel special. These are traditions I hope we continue with our own little family!

Super Bowl Weekend

Stuart came home from work one day this week and said that we need to fill our weekends with more activities. So we did just that! So we...

Went to dinner at Angelo and Venici's with our friends John and Leah, we love them!! (This also met Stuart's request to eat at more Non-chain restaurants)

We went to the beach and ran, walked and looked at all the cute houses, went on the rocks to look at the crabs and starfish, laid out, played volleyball, ate lunch, and skim boarded. Oh and it was beautiful and 75 degrees in February. Have I mentioned that we LOVE being back in California?

We also went in the hot tub at Kat and Drew's, played with baby Hailey, and got Trader Joe's snacks and watched Moneyball.

On Sunday all my Dad's family came over to watch the Superbowl and we had a feast of food!!

GREAT weekend! Stuart approved.

Stuart turns the big 25!

So this is a little late but Stuart turned 25! He is a Quarter of a Century old, WOW!! We had a fabulous time celebrating his birthday. Since it is a big birthday I decided I would post the 25 things I love most about Stuart:

Brithday boy dinner: Honey Lime Enchiladas, Ceasar Salad, Fruit Salad, Corn and beans. YUM

My mom and Abby made this cute sign

Abby drew Stuart a map to Costco for his birthday. What a sweetie pie

We do this thing at my house called heavy heavy hangover. You bonk them on the head and then the birthday person gives the other person a wish! haha weird but we love it

katdizzle

VERY happy boy. I finally got him a remote control helicopter and I had no idea how happy it would make him. He has been randomly saying he wants one for a while now, but he LOVES it. Sometimes guys just need a fun toy!

The loved helicopter

Sweet baby Hailey fell asleep and would not let go of my shirt. So precious.

Stuart's work also bought him donuts and I met him for lunch at Chipotle at the Spectrum. It was a VERY successful birthday and I would say he felt very loved!

Stuart the Working Man

So it has not been blogged about yet but Stuart accepted an offer in Irvine, Ca working for C.W. Driver! They are a big commercial contractor here in California. After a little debate Stuart and I felt very strongly that he should choose to go with this company. It is the company he always hoped to work for. He is so happy and I am so proud of him!! He is getting adjusted to working in an office all day but he is enjoying learning so much and getting lots of free lunches :) Stuart even had a little kick in his step the first week, so cute. He is just not enjoying the commute. We are living with my parents for the time being and it is only a 30 min drive without traffic but with it it is stinky. However we are well aware it could be much worse! For me..looking for a job. Hopefully I get something in Irvine and then we can move there. Thank you to my parents for letting us stay here for a little until I find a job! It is quite the party here. And yay for Stuart!

Bahamas

Our last stop was in the Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. This is the Norwegian cruise line's private island. It is supposed to have the feel of an uninhabited island. They brought all the food to the island so we had a big bbq and they had chairs out to lay out. Luckily we borrowed my parents snorkel gear and so we snorkeled in the crystal blue water. We saw some crazy fish! They were a little too friendly here, they would get right up in your face! Overall we loved relaxing the last day of our cruise and getting some sun. It was the only day we got burned. Even though we should not have, it did feel a little bit good. Cheers to the Bahamas..

So pretty

We had a rock stacking competition. It was debatable who won

fishies

Okay so this is only half of the HUGE eel. This is where I freaked out in the snorkeling. Right before this Stuart warns me that he saw alot of jelly fish and I should watch out. Thus my paranoia sets in. Then he is trying so hard to point out something to me in the water. The HUGE eel! It was squirming all crazy and so I BOOKED it out of there. I immediately started swimming to shore. Stuart said he only got half of the eel because he was worried about me, haha whoops. Good times

just chillin

Well we had a great first cruise experience! We would gladly go on another one...in ten years :) That was our last vacation for a while! It was an unforgettable vacation and we loved it all.
