Christmas 2012

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We spent Christmas here with my family in California and had a nice time. It was the first year in a long time that no traveling was involved and that was really relaxing.

Christmas Eve we had a scrumptious dinner and then the traditional scavenger hunt for our Christmas pajamas! My dad does a scavenger hunt around the house and then the end clue leads you to the pajamas. Since we are all adults and insist that he still does the scavenger hunt, he makes it really tricky. For instance once clue was "the last of 88"...any guesses? Well a piano has 88 keys and the clue was on the last key of the piano. Yeah, tricky! But it was so fun to be a part of it this year and we loved our new Pajamas. Hailey especially loved her new slippers. That little girl was the cutest thing figuring out wearing slippers for the first time.

We decided to sleep at my parents that night so they would have people to wake up with Christmas morning, it was great! Stuart was like a little kid though and couldn't sleep because he was so excited. Needless to say, we were up earlier than my parents expected!

My siblings and their kids came over for breakfast and to celebrate the rest of the day. It was a good Christmas. Stuart made a list for once, and he was so amazed that he wanted everything that he got. I've been trying to tell him this, and he is now a believer in making a list rather than people doing their best to guess what you want! Down below you will notice that an odd picture of me sitting on a bucket. My mom gave us emergency preparedness supplies and one of the items was a toilet bucket! We were laughing so hard. Enjoy the pic

It was a wonderful day filled with family and love. One of the best parts of the day was getting to talk to my brother John in Peru on his mission. He is doing so well and is very happy. Even though I really miss him, I couldn't be more proud.

We are truly grateful for the Christmas season and the opportunity it gives us to remember our savior and be with those that we love.

  2. Scavenger hunt is a fun way to enjoy Christmas Eve with your loved ones. People of all ages will surely enjoy this activity. Like you, we always conduct traditional scavenger hunts in our home. In fact, it’s not just every Christmas. We also do it on special occasions like birthdays and family reunions. :)
